POSTED ON September 25, 2019 @ 3:47 pm

The Board of Golf Management Australia (GMA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Vardy (pictured) to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Paul joins GMA with an extensive knowledge of, and experience within the golf industry, most recently as the Clubs & Facilities Support Senior Manager at Golf Australia. Prior to this, Paul held senior management roles over a 20-year period at Kew Golf Club, The Royal Melbourne Golf Club, Yarra Yarra Golf Club and Eastern Golf Club.

On the CEO appointment, GMA Chair, Andrew Gay said, “Paul brings with him a wealth of experience in golf, stakeholder management and operational experience, through his work with Golf Australia and in senior golf club management roles over a long period of time.”

Paul will be a great addition to GMA, and with his skills and knowledge, will have the ability to ensure we continue the great results GMA has achieved to date.”

A stand-out candidate amongst more than 180 applications, Paul has already worked closely with GMA, helping to deliver the successful Business Management Institute (BMI) program in association with Club Management Association of America. Paul was also heavily involved with the implementation of Golf Australia’s Club Support Portal – a resource now regularly used by GMA members.

Passionate about club management and in particular, helping managers improve their leadership and knowledge of governance, Paul said, “GMA is all about acquiring knowledge, building relationships and keeping the passion alive to serve our golf clubs and facilities with excellence.”

On his appointment, Paul remarked, “I’m honoured and excited to accept the CEO role with GMA. I look forward to working with the board, state executives, staff, and our corporate and golf industry partners to lead an excellent program of professional development for our members.”

Paul will commence in the CEO role on Monday, 4th November 2019.
