JOB: Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club – General Manager

POSTED ON May 12, 2022 @ 10:13 am

Apply your effective leadership, growth mindset, business acumen, and interest in golf, to lead Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club into a thriving future.

Located in Melbourne’s thriving west, the Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club offers an unsurpassed range of facilities for its members, guests, and adjacent residential community of around 3,000 homes. The club offers an impressive 18-hole Greg Norman / Bob Harrison designed championship golf course, consistently rated in the top 70 courses in Australia, a members lounge, 24-bay driving range, and a golf shop.

We are now seeking an experienced and engaging General Manager to guide the club into the next phase of its growth and development.  You will be actively involved in all aspects of the club and responsible for all operations, excluding hospitality (provided by a third-party service provider).

Your priorities will be to lead, support, and develop a high-performing service team; drive growth, revenue, and profit; and effectively implement the club’s strategic plan, and accompanying strategic projects.  The role demands a General Manager with a desire to lead.

To be considered for the role you are likely to possess the following attributes:

  • Effective leadership, with a focus on delivering high-quality member and guest experiences by a high-performing service team.
  • Growth mindset, with a successful record in achieving revenue growth, revenue diversification, and profit.
  • Business acumen, which ensures the efficient and effective operation of the club, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and project management.

It is essential that you are a friendly, independent and motivated person, with good communication and personal skills that match the club’s culture, and diverse stakeholder engagement requirements.  Experience in management of a diverse business with a member focussed background, together with golf knowledge and/or experience, is highly desirable.

If you are currently employed outside the golf industry and possess the attributes identified, then you are strongly encouraged to apply.

A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, commensurate with the role and your credentials.

The recruitment for this role is being led by WellPlayed Golf Business Consultancy. Applications close Friday 3 June.

Please e-mail your application, including an explanation of how your skills and experience will fulfill the requirements of the role, via the tab below.
