Australian Golf Media Awards entries now open
The Australian Golf Media Awards were created for media professionals who cover Australian golf and golfers in the print, internet, radio, television and photography sections of the Australian Media. Now in their 20th year, the awards have Mr Bruce Baskett a former editor of the Melbourne Herald and a former member of the Australian Press Council as its Chair with a panel made up by representatives from Golf Australia, the PGA of Australia and the Australian Ladies Professional Golf Inc.
The presentations to the winners of the various categories has now become a centerpiece of the ISPS Handa / Australian Golf Media Association annual dinner which is always held on the eve of the final round of the Australian Open Golf Championship. AGMA President Brendan Moloney said he was pleased that the peak golfing bodies had once again shown their support for Australia’s golf media by sponsoring the awards and he warmly welcomed further sponsorship from the Open Championship and ISPS Handa.
The awards this year will have a monetary prize plus a trophy and they showcase the best coverage of golf and Australian golfers over 12 months and are open to all media representatives not just members of the Australian Golf Media Association and will be presented for:
- Best News Report
