The Golf proshop is located on the lower level of the Gungahlin Lakes Golf Clubhouse

Reason for Sale

The current operator has been managing the business for 20 years and has decided to downsize his business responsibilities. The current manager is interested to stay on, as an employee of the new business owner.

About the Business

The business has performed consistently well for a very long period. Revenue has continued to grow each year as the game of golf enjoys global growth.

Gungahlin is a district in the A.C.T which is one of fastest growing regions in Australia.
As of 2022, Gungahlin comprised sixteen suburbs, including several under construction and a further suburb planned. The golf course is nearing capacity, but in an area where the population is growing every week!

The business is different to other retailers, in that the customers come to the pro shop as part of going to the golf course. The golf club supports the business via various revenue channels.

The proshop is rent free, thus from a cashflow and risk perspective this makes the business more attractive than other businesses.

The other benefits of the business are:

  • The practice driving range is managed by the business
  • A fleet of 42 golf carts are owned and managed by the business
  • Alarm and monitoring supplied by club free of charge
  • A PC being supplied by the club free of charge (includes IT support and Internet)
  • POS (SwiftPOS, which is linked to all club tills allowing points earned to be redeemed at the proshop)
  • Carpet cleaning supplied by the club (quarterly)
  • Public Liability Insurance covered by the club

The business must be sold to another PGA member or an entity that employs a PGA member. The business would suit either a motivated Golf Professional or a couple who are driven to supply quality equipment and services to very appreciative club members and guests.

A great lifestyle business with financial rewards.
