The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to take the lead in developing the Food & Beverage offering for our proposed integrated and first of its kind Surf & Golf resort, whilst driving our award-winning and highly successful current business.
The Club
Conveniently located in the heart of the Gold Coast, the Club at Parkwood Village is a premier entertainment destination and the official home of the Gold Coast Titans. The Club offers guests and members a pristine par 71 golf course, seasonal dining, café, kids arcade, sports bar and gaming, event centre as well as the largest mini-golf course in Australia, and five state of the art Swing Suites powered by Topgolf. In late 2019 The Club completed an eight-million-dollar renovation, and our food & beverage business is thriving.
The Surf and Golf resort
Our future Surf and Golf resorts needs a passionate and eager hospitality General Manager to make us the best in the business! The proposed resort will be the first of its kind in Queensland and will set an industry standard in not only our region, but in the world. With a wave pool capable of producing perfect 7ft waves, a resort featuring boutique rooms, multiple food and beverage offerings including a microbrewery & bistro, beach club, cafe & bakery, restaurant, sports and entertainment venue, event, and retail spaces, and an upgraded 18 Hole Championship Golf Course – there is no limit to where we can go.
The Candidate
We are looking for a highly talented and innovative Hospitality Operator with a wealth of experience, creative flair, strong business acumen and highly regarded in the industry.
Reporting to the Managing Director the key responsibilities will include:
The Current Operations key responsibilities
- Responsibility for the successful day to day management of all Food & Beverage operations across the various business sectors.
- Management of the clubs’ commercial outcomes including wages, COGS, and operating expenses.
- Develop and implement the operating model and policies and procedures for all Food & Beverage operations, current and future.
- Recruit, train, inspire and lead staff ensuring the maintenance of our business culture and ethics.
- Develop and implement all new beverage menus ensuring speed, quality and profit is not compromised whilst keeping the offering on trend and relevant.
- Management of equipment including facilitating maintenance, new purchases, and correct usage.
- Supplier relationships: tendering, ordering, stocktake, and wastage management in collaboration with senior Food & Beverage staff and utilisation of the Swiftpos software.
- Compliance Management
- Management of the Front of House roster, annual leave plan, and learning & training program
Design Development for Golf and Surf Resort key responsibilities
- Assisting the development team with overall feasibility , design , operational flow within every aspect of the food beverage and entrainment business Including.
- Brewhouse
- Market Kitchen
- The Bakehouse
- Smoothie Bar & Ice Creamery
- Restaurant & Beach Club
- Sport Bar & Tab
- Gaming & Poker Lounge
- Mini Golf
- Top Golf Swing Suite
- Events and festival Hall
- Developing and implementing operational launch strategies for the food beverage and entertainment facilities.
- Assist the development team in negotiating with key supplier stakeholders in particular the brewery partner.
The successful applicant will have:
- A genuine passion and love for the industry, guests, and the team you work with
- Experience for launching venues.
- A revenue and service focus.
- Experience with significantly high volume (1000 plus covers per day) pub, club or bistro environment highly regarded
- Experience with high-volume banquets / events in a hotel or event centre environment is highly regarded
- An outgoing personality with the ability to engage with various employees and stakeholders.
- A love for a fast-paced work environment
- Strong business acumen with the ability to be as accurate and passionate “on the tools” as well as in the office
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of deliverables
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong Computer skills including Word, Excel, and various business software and program
