JOB: Golf and Operations Manager – Mount Coolum Golf Club

Mount Coolum Golf Club is looking for a full-time experienced Golf and Operations Manager.

Centrally located on the Sunshine Coast, the Mt Coolum Golf Club is an 18 Hole championship golf course nestled at the foot of a Sunshine Coast landmark – Mount Coolum. It is acknowledged as one of the most picturesque and popular courses on the Sunshine Coast.

About the role

The Golf and Operations Manager’s major responsibility is to oversee all matters related to club golf in addition to providing support to the General Manager in carrying out all tasks of club operation. The Golf and Operations Manager is an integral member of the Club’s senior management team and as such takes responsibility for the management of all aspects of club golf to deliver customer service excellence while consistently exceeding member and guest expectations.

Key Selection Criteria

  • A strong understanding of golf is a must, including competition and timesheet management, rules, and policies and procedures. In addition, a passion for golf is highly desirable.
  • A high level of computer literacy particular in the Windows environment. Previous experience with the MiClub and Micropower/PPG programs would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills alongside a high level of customer service and the ability to relate to a diverse group of people.
  • Hold RSA and RSG Statement of Attainment. No other mandatory educational qualifications are required for this position, however relevant certificates of achievement in related courses are desirable.
  • Experience within an office environment and in golf administration would be an advantage.
  • A sound understanding of financial and payroll systems.
  • Availability to work weekends if required.

Requirements for successful delivery of this position:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Golf and Operations Manager will be responsible for the full range of golf and operations management activities including but not limited to:

  • Ensure high quality service to members participating in club competitions and major events.
  • Manage social group bookings, corporate and charity days.
  • Assist Match Committees in all matters relating to golf, including being an integral member of the Executive Match Committee.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing programs to promote the club to ensure objectives as outlined in the strategic plan are implemented.
  • Assess and make recommendations on staff training issues within prescribed budget.
  • OH&S management.
  • Assist in management of the operation of the financial and administrative systems including IT, point of sale equipment, inventory and cash control and assist with monthly stocktakes.
  • Perform Gaming clearance and gaming functions when required.
  • Assist with New Membership enquiries and inductions.
  • Excellent computer skills.
