JOB: Head Teaching Professional – Kooyonga Golf Club

About

Located on the Adelaide sand belt and established in 1923, the Kooyonga Golf Club is recognised internationally as one of Australia’s leading championship courses and private golf clubs having hosted five Men’s Australian Open, one Women’s Australian Open and many other State and National golf events.

With a strong membership, redeveloped clubhouse and world class practice and teaching facilities, the Club has maintained a proud tradition and heritage for 100 years whilst continuing to position itself at the forefront of the golf industry.

Over the last 12 months, the Club has upgraded our existing golf academy and practice facilities to include.

  • 3 x indoor / outdoor teaching bays with the golf academy featuring Trackman, BodyTrak, high speed cameras, video analysis and a simulator
  • SAM PuttLab in dedicated putting room with provision for Zen Green Stage
  • Undercover pavilion across the width of the driving range for all weather practice by members with provision for future installation of Trackman Range
  • Sports lighting to illuminate the full length driving range, expansive putting green and chipping green to enable member access and practice from 6am to 10pm daily.
  • Dedicated short game area

The Club

The Club has had just six (6) Head Professionals in its 100 year history and seeks to engage a suitably qualified and dynamic Head Teaching Professional to oversee tuition and consulting services utilising our expanded golf academy and recently upgraded practice facilities.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, responsibilities of this pivotal role include:-

  • Provision of fee based tuition services of the highest standard
  • Development of coaching programmes and support for pennant teams and junior squads
  • Creation of lesson plans for both individual and group golf instruction, including fostering the development of women’s golf
  • Application of knowledge on golf, fitness and technology to enhance services provided to members
  • Establishing a mentoring relationship with other coaches and trainees employed by the Club
  • Provide club fitting and equipment suitability assessment services for members
  • Maintain fitting carts and other teaching facilities to required presentation standards

Applications

Applications are encouraged from certified members of the PGA of Australia or International Affiliation with advanced status in coaching as well as game development, who have experience teaching in a similar golfing establishment and have a goal of being a generational Head Teaching Professional.

Outstanding communication complemented by a passion for teaching, engaging personality and willingness to work within a team are essential qualities sought, as is the authenticity, integrity and credibility necessary to inspire others.

The successful candidate will have the rare opportunity to build their own legacy amongst a select group, with the Club to negotiate an appropriate salary to supplement his/her fee based tuition income to reflect the key responsibilities of the role.
