JOB: Sales and Retail Manager – Vendi Golf Australia (Remote role)

Vendi Golf, Australia’s fastest-growing golf technology business, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales and Retail Manager to join our team. As we continue to revolutionise the golfing retail experience across the country, we need an individual who can lead our sales efforts to drive further retail growth through the unprecedented demand we are experiencing in the golfing boom.
Vendi Golf is transforming the way in which people can access and pay for their golfing experiences. Having commenced in May 2020, in just 3 years, Vendi Golf has clients in 55 golf clubs across Australia and is now taking the next step from start-up to scale-up.
The role
To achieve our aims to provide self-attending technology to every golf club in Australia, and then the world, we are looking to appoint our Foundational Sales and Retail Manager for Vendi Golf.
The person we are looking for:
- Might be sick of the slog behind the retail counter of a pro shop or golf franchise outlet.
- A current employee in a golfing body looking to break the shackles and be a part of transforming the golf industry in a meaningful and targeted way through tech and innovation.
- Maybe a PGA graduate with a degree in retail, marketing, commerce, or another business discipline still wants to play golf whilst working and evolving in a challenging golf environment undergoing massive growth.
- A journeyperson still grinding it out on the Pro-Am Tours trying to earn a quid but sees the massive potential of Vendi Golf’s products and a career pathway and has already established relationships with many golf clubs across the country.
- or a combination of all of the above, and even have other tools and traits that would lead you to be interested in joining the team at Vendi Golf.
Most importantly, you ideally will be a registered PGA Professional that thinks outside the box on what golf should look like and is able to contribute. You’ve seen the game grow and you want it to thrive, not just survive. You know and understand tech, be a self-starter and be capable of meeting targets and developing and maintaining relationships with clubs and committees.
And you must believe in what you are doing and still enjoy playing and competing in golf and still yearn for a desire to teach and support the game’s participants with your professional skills.
A bit about what the person in the role ideally is:
- You will ideally have retail sales skills and a warm personality that evokes trust and knowledge.
- Disciplined and organised
- Still scratch an itch to play and be able to follow that dream with a fully sponsored employer if that’s your thing.
- Travel must be not an issue, and you are largely self-managed based on targets
- Can work within a budget in relation to the revenue and client targets achieved.
- Able to conduct lessons and training videos and drive social media participation.
- Have skills to onboard and follow up using CRMs in place including PipeDrive, Nayax, SportLogic and Vendi Play tools (training provided of course)
- Be able to target and achieve sign-up KPIs and value-added services.
- Do roadshows and appointment setting – manage your own diary.
- To assist with the development and identify new solutions for regional golf.
- Be able to listen, learn and engage, and respond to sales objections using data and facts.
- Sharpen the saw – obtain, train, and retain existing clients whilst expanding the portfolio.
- Must be tech and gadget savvy – your interest in tech can contribute to company product development.
Your ambition
Be able to understand the purpose of Vendi Golf’s ambitions – to make golf self-attending in a cashless environment opening up new avenues of potential for club revenues.
The type of working conditions you can expect:
- Autonomy, never be afraid to organise playing golf with a potential client or wanting to do a lesson program for a client or potential client club.
- Be the face of Vendi Golf, own the market, serve the need, and get the rewards.
- Work largely from home, and on the road with occasional meetings and attendance required at HO in Vic and NSW, weekend on-call requirement for customer service calls.
- Budget for travel and diary setting (initially own car with expenses paid)
- Flexible workdays and times – target-based role – we don’t watch the clock at Vendi Golf
- WFH tools – laptop, phone
- Base Salary with earnings potential from lessons and sales through Vendi Golf clients based on experience, potential, and results.

Responsibilities:
- Retail Sales Excellence: Utilise your exceptional retail sales skills to drive revenue growth and exceed sales targets. Provide outstanding customer service, demonstrating in-depth product knowledge and helping clubs make informed purchasing decisions from our suite of tech self-attending products.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate further the golf market and achieve business objectives. Identify opportunities for expansion and work closely with management to develop new sales channels and provide feedback on identified needs in the market that we can develop.
- Relationship Building: Leverage your existing network and establish strong relationships with golf clubs nationwide. Act as a brand ambassador, representing Vendi Golf and promoting our products and services.
- Product Knowledge: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in golf technology and products. Demonstrate a deep understanding of Vendi Golf’s offerings and effectively communicate their value to potential clients.
- Leadership and Integrity: be the trusted go to person that club committees need to be supported by.
- Marketing and Promotions: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns that generate brand awareness and increase sales. Identify key marketing opportunities within the golf industry.
- Travel and Relationship Management: Travel as required to meet with clients, attend trade shows, and participate in industry events. Maintain regular communication with existing clients to ensure their satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling.
- Tech-Savvy Approach: Embrace technology and utilize CRM tools such as PipeDrive, Nayax, SportLogic, and Vendi Play to manage sales activities, track leads, and monitor performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback on product development, market trends, and customer preferences to contribute to the evolution of Vendi Golf’s offerings. Actively seek ways to improve processes and enhance the customer experience.
- Take ownership of the role: work within the budgets and KPI settings by the Founder and CEO then deliver.
Qualifications:
- Registered PGA Professional with a passion for golf and a deep understanding of the industry. (Preferred)
- Proven track record in retail sales, preferably in the golf industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in CRM tools and an aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalise on business opportunities.
- Highly organized and disciplined with the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work remotely, with occasional meetings at our offices in Victoria and New South Wales.
