Founded in 1891, The Royal Melbourne Golf Club possesses two world renowned golf courses and has been host to numerous national and international tournaments, including most recently the 2019 Presidents Cup. The Club has a proud reputation of providing its Members and guests with a friendly, welcoming, and inclusive experience.

An opportunity exists to join the team, in a new full-time role as Women’s Golf Operations Coordinator.

Reporting to the Director of Golf, the Women’s Golf Operations Coordinator role is ideally suited to someone with a passion for golf, enthusiastic with aspirations to furthering their career in the golf industry.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills, the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Understanding of and commitment to the principles of EEO, OH&S and ethical practices
  • Build strong rapport and work with the Women’s Committee and Members to ensure they always have a great experience at the Club
  • Always be focused on ensuring an excellent Member and guest experience
  • Act as a strong support to the Director of Golf and undertake specific duties as required to support the team and other departments as appropriate

Key Roles and Responsibilities

The Women’s Golf Operations Coordinator is a dynamic role and will provide support to a range of day-to-day women’s golf operations tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Support the Women’s Committee in proactively managing all golf activities for the women’s membership
  • Support the Club’s strategic objectives in women’s golf development and membership
  • Attend Women’s Committee meetings, including the preparation of agendas, recording minutes, provide suggestions and follow up on action items
  • Assist with the coordination of external events ie. Pennant and various interclub events
  • Support the Women’s Committee in proactively organising their responsibilities
  • Plan and set up all women’s golf events in advance of the competition
  • Arrange for the opening of timesheets
  • Prepare entry sheets and conditions of play for all major events, prepare and communicate draws and follow up to ensure matches are played within closing dates
  • Assist with the preparation of weekly Women’s E-News in conjunction with the President and Captain
  • Update women’s news/events on the Club website
  • Ongoing ownership of a Yearly Planner for use by Women’s Committee to manage all key areas of the women’s membership

Hours

This position is full-time based on a 38-hour working week (Monday to Friday with limited weekend work required). Daily start and finish times are flexible to mutually suit the employee and employer’s needs.
