Launceston Country Club receiving modern upgrades

POSTED ON November 13, 2024 @ 5:51 pm

Northern Tasmania is set to welcome a “first-of-its-kind” mini golf course as part of a major upgrade to the Launceston Country Club.

Work on the new mini golf course began in September and is scheduled for completion in April 2025, coinciding with the opening of a new driving range.

A new parklands golf course is also in the works and is slated to open in 2026.

The mini golf course is being designed by Richard Chamberlain, who has worked on similar projects across Australia.

Federal Group is hoping the upgrades will establish the club as a premier golfing destination

“If people have half as much fun playing this course as we are having creating it, then they are in for an absolute ball,” Chamberlain said.

“A lot of people imagine the old days of windmills and clowns, but we’re really bringing mini golf back to life with this new way of design and playing.”

“This course will feel like you’re in Tasmania’s wilderness, with a flowing creek, striking boulders, lush natives and a 20-metre waterfall. It’ll be stunning and thrilling for players.”

Country Club General Manager Ross Hannah said the upgrades are part of a vision to make the club a must-stay-and-play golfing destination.

“This will be a golf entertainment precinct that has something for everyone and that’s why the Mini Golf is so important.”
