New docuseries: Changing the Business of Golf

POSTED ON February 19, 2022 @ 10:40 am

Golf course owner Fame Tate faces tough decisions as she looks to build a bright future for Stanedge Golf Club in the final episode of Syngenta docuseries Changing the Business of Golf.

The six-part watch is a unique, new docuseries telling the remarkable story of one woman’s mission to
turnaround a rundown golf club and make it a friendly, accessible and inclusive community venue.

Having purchased the club three years ago, bringing it back from the brink of extinction, Fame reflects on the experience of becoming a first time business owner.

“It’s never been a quick win here, we’ve always looked to the future,” she explains.

Investing significantly to improve golf course conditioning and the clubhouse experience, resulting in more customers and higher revenues, Fame is now targeting new female players and speaks with expert coach Alastair Spink, founder of the pioneering all-female experience love.golf.

Fame also takes time to celebrate the fact the club has achieved her five-year plan in half that time – but admits this has created a new set of challenges for the business if it is to stay true to its open and welcoming ethos.

Catch previous episodes following Fame’s remarkable one-woman mission to change golf, transform the customer experience and make her club a friendly and inclusive community venue.
