Ogilvy Cocking Mead to design new holes at Yallourn Golf Club

YGC NEw HolesConstruction has commenced on three new holes at the Yallourn Golf Club (VIC), undertaken by world famous golf course architects Ogilvy Cocking Mead Pty Ltd (OCM).

The former host Club of the Gippsland Super six has developed a partnership with Monash Views Pty Ltd, a development company headed up by Don McKenzie and Meaghan Hughes.

The anticipated redevelopment of the course is a result of this exciting collaboration between the Club and developers of the Monash Views Residential Subdivision

The construction of these three new holes is on the west side of the Club that will ultimately resulting the replacement of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th holes.

The vegetation clearing started for the new holes this month and construction of the irrigation extensions and tee and green complexes will commence on the 24thAugust, with an anticipated commencement of play in August 2022.

Famous upgrades

The renowned Ogilvy Cocking Mead architects have completed a host of famous upgrades such as Peninsula Kingswood GC, Kingston Heath GC and Royal Queensland in the past, and have recently been engaged to redevelop the #3 course at Medinah Country Club, US, which will host the Presidents Cup in 3 years.

According to the Club, the New Monash Views Pty Ltd have been an excellent supporter of the Club over the past 5 years and their 200-lot development adjacent to the Club and overlooking the new holes, will bring a strong community that will embrace the amazing lifestyle options available in the vicinity of the development.

There will be approximately 50 houses backing on to the course with the remaining 150 all within close proximity.
