Pelican Waters development to ‘hug’ prestigious Coast golf course in stunning $70m redevelopment

POSTED ON May 25, 2022 @ 5:43 pm

The “biggest and most opulent” resort project of its kind in Australia is swinging into action on the Sunshine Coast.

A first in over-50s living, the $70 million Pelican Waters development will hug a “reconfigured” version of the area’s famous Greg Norman-designed golf course.

Palm Lake Resort Pelican Waters is ready to start its next phase of construction, with preliminary civic and earthworks wrapping up.

The first sod was turned in August 2021, but initial works have taken longer than expected due to the recent deluge.

Major renovations are also taking place at the Pelican Waters Golf Club, including a reconfiguration of the existing golf course, which was considered one of the finest in the nation, to accommodate the new development.

About 320 custom-designed homes will make up the resort, enjoying water frontage or direct golf course access. An impressive lakefront community hub will offer social, sporting and wellness facilities.

As well as the over-50s resort and upgrades to the existing golf course, the Pelican Waters Golf Club clubhouse has also undergone a “dramatic” upgrade for use by the wider community.

This includes a new stand-alone pro shop, training academy, mini golf, pitch and putt and driving range.
