Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club in Hanoi announced earlier this week their recent nomination of Australian PGA member Gary Dixon as the club’s new general manager.

Prior to his new role at the award winning Vietnamese course, Dixon spent the last ten years in a parallel position at the top 50 world-ranked course of Barnbougle Dunes in Tasmania, Australia.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to take on the challenge of running one of the country’s best courses and together with IMG look to develop the club further and help create Hanoi as a premier golfing destination,” Dixon said about the transfer.

Becoming Pro at the tender age of 16, Dixon is a veteran in the game of golf and Sky Lakes Chairman Jang Chin emphasized the wealth of valuable experience the new recruit would bring to the exclusive resort.

“We are delighted to welcome a distinguished general manager with Gary’s experience to continue to lead the Sky Lake team through the next phase of the clubs development,” he stated in a press release by the club.

“He has the appropriate skills and experience to continue to drive and improve both facility and service standards at the club.”

Earlier this year, Sky Lake affirmed its position as one of Vietnam’s leading golf courses by accepting an award given for Best Golf Courses in Vietnam, matching the accolade given to the course in 2015 by Vietnam Tourism Association at their annual awards evening in Hanoi.

The 36 hole Sky Lake golf facility encompasses two contrasting Par 72, 18-hole PGA championship standard courses – the Member-Only Lake Course and the more accessible Sky Course, which is open to the public and can be enjoyed by golfers of all level of skills.
