The Vines Golf resort set to reopen with more golf, less housing

POSTED ON May 15, 2024 @ 9:09 am

The Vines Golf resort is to reopen an upgraded 18 hole course this month after slashing its controversial housing plans by more than half.

The renovated Championship Course, which is the former home to the Heineken and Johnnie Walker Classics, will sit alongside half of the other existing 18 hole course. The remainder of the second course will be turned into a new 14-hole course.

Vines WA Director Mark Hohnen said the new offering was in line with global golfing trends, with growing demand for shorter games from time-poor golfers.

“These changes confirm The Vines as a complete golfing experience by offering 27 traditional holes, a short course, and a modern driving range, in addition to the mini-golf already offered.

Vines WA also wants to redevelop the existing 5.4 hectare driving range area as 100 single-storey houses catering to local over 55’s market, as well as 40 premium townhouses. The cost was not revealed.
